Bond Election

April 14, 2021

Dear Chamber Member-Investor:

On Saturday, May 1st, Irving-Las Colinas voters will choose City Council representatives for Districts 4, 6 and 8.  Equally important, voters will have the opportunity to accept or reject in part or whole, a $563.4 million bond package for municipal capital improvements.

There are 12 propositions on the ballot that, if approved, will fund street, transportation, municipal facilities and infrastructure improvements (the pavement of streets, alleys and sidewalks), updating mechanical and structural elements (replacement of aging mechanicals such as City Hall elevators), upgrades to police, fire and animal services, improvements to public parks and recreation facilities, update the City’s information technology, and make additional improvements to our public library and arts center.

Your Chamber contributed input and made recommendations to the City Council on the bond package. Additionally, several of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Irving residents were selected as part of a Citizen Bond Task Force Committee. Approval of the bond package obligation is not expected to have any impact on the City’s tax rate.

The Irving-Las Colinas Chamber urges you to vote on Saturday, May 1st.  This is a significant financial obligation targeting improvements that are intended to make our City safer and accommodate our community’s continued growth.  You will find detailed information on the propositions at Irving, TX - Official Website (cityofirving.org) and for additional information on the local candidates running for office visit VoteForIrving.com.
